A 90th-minute penalty from Matt Lockwood snatched a 1-0 win for Dundee at Partick.
A dour first half ended goalless as both sides struggled to register any shots on target, with Partick's Aaron Sinclair going the closest for either side when his fifth-minute effort was blocked by Craig McKeown.
The home side almost took the lead on the hour when Scott Robertson's superb drilled effort from 30 yards whistled past Rab Douglas's left-hand post.
The game seemed destined to end all-square until Alan Archibald felled substitute Nicholas Riley in the box with a minute remaining.
And defender Lockwood coolly placed his penalty into the bottom-left corner to clinch all three points for his side.
