Dees move top after Morton success
Two first-half goals from Dundee secured a 2-1 at bottom-side Morton and sent them top of the Scottish Championship.
Dundee striker Craig Beattie ended his four-game goal drought as he opened the scoring with a low, neat finish inside the area in the 17th minute.
Peter MacDonald, who assisted Beattie's opener, missed the chance to double the Dees' lead after heading wide from a central position.
MacDonald was denied again when he shot, straight at Morton goalkeeper Nicolas Caraux.
Dundee ended the first half by extending their lead over Morton, Declan Gallacher heading his fourth goal of the season from six yards.
Morton gave themselves hope as Dougie Imrie finished neatly past Kyle Letheren with more than half an hour remaining but the visitors held on and are now top, level on points with second-placed Hamilton.
