A late goal from Mark Fotheringham gave troubled Dundee a share of the points at Almondvale.
Fotheringham - only in the team after Dundee were forced to axe 15 players earlier in the week due to their huge debt - struck from just six yards after a Bobby Linn shot was blocked.
Crisis-hit Dundee made a bright start and almost scored inside the first 30 seconds. Striker Steve Lovell had time and space in the penalty area but dragged his shot just wide of goal.
Nacho Novo was next to try his luck with a 20-yard effort which flew well wide of target.
It was a positive start from Dundee and Lovell tested Roddy McKenzie with a shot from the edge of the area which the goalkeeper dealt with capably.
Garry Brady then forced another decent save from McKenzie with a 20-yard effort after Stuart Lovell had carelessly given the ball away.
But it was Livingston who were guilty of missing the best opportunities in the first half.
Oscar Rubio lofted a volley over the top from just six yards after Marvin Andrews had headed the ball into his path.
But Lee Makel wasted an even better chance with ten minutes of the first half left. Derek Lilley put him clean through but, with only Julian Speroni to beat, he thumped the ball into the sidenetting.
Heavy rain made life difficult for both teams and goalmouth incidents were few and far between in the first half.
Livingston took the lead after 70 minutes when Lee Wilkie brought down Makel in the penalty box.
Referee John Rowbotham immediately pointed to the spot and Lilley made no mistake.
Just when it looked as if Livingston would hold on, Fotheringham struck.
