Hibernian had not won a league game at Dens Park for four years, but they ended that run in emphatic fashion with a 4-1 victory against an out of sorts Dundee.
With a quarter of an hour gone Mark Fotheringham went close for Dundee but his 25-yard free-kick dipped just over the crossbar.
A minute later Hibs grabbed the lead. A cross from the left by David Murphy was met by Guillaume Beuzelin and his looping header soared over Derek Soutar and nestled in the back of the net.
Fabian Caballero fired just past the post from 20 yards with 31 minutes on the clock and seconds later Craig Rocastle shot wide for visitors.
A great stop by Soutar prevented Alen Orman doubling the visitors' lead on 35 minutes, before Dundee broke and Steve Lovell saw his low drive crash back off the inside of the post.
Another good save by Soutar kept the home team in the game, this time he did well to deny Sam Morrow four minutes before half-time.
A minute later however, Soutar could do nothing to deny Derek Riordan scoring the visitors' second with a well-placed shot from 12 yards.
Dundee grabbed a goal back after 62 minutes when a good ball from Neil Jablonski sent Lovell through on goal and the Dundee number nine coolly drove the ball past Simon Brown from ten yards.
Riordan then crashed a 20-yard free-kick against the crossbar as Hibs looked to regain their two-goal advantage.
Eighteen minutes from time the visitors got their third of the afternoon when Orman headed home from another Murphy cross.
The visitors made it four with four minutes remaining when substitute Dean Shiels scored from ten yards after a good move on the left.
