Dundee sustained their unbeaten run since 93 at Pittodorie in a highly entertaining drawn match.

With five minutes played, Nick Fabiano found Leon Mike and his downward header from six yards looked to have beaten Julian Speroni, but the Dundee keeper somehow managed to get a hand to the ball and Tom Hutchinson was on hand to complete the clearance.

Back came the visitors on 15 minutes when clever play by danger man Fabian Caballero picked out Gavin Rae on the edge of the area, but his snapshot from 20 yards flew inches over Peter Kjaer beaten.

With 25minutes gone Mike eluded to defenders before his fierce drive ricocheted off Darren Mackie and wide for a corner.

There were loud appeals for a penalty on 31 minutes when Derek Young deflected shot fell into the path of Mike and as he was about to shoot Hutchinson appeared to bundle the Dons striker over, but nothing was given.

As play switched from end to end it was Nacho Novo whose 25-yarder was well held by Kjaer.

The Dons should have gone ahead when Derek Young advanced on to a Darren Young throughball, as the striker shot keeper Speroni parried his shot effort and reacted quickly to gather the rebound.

From the Dark Blues' first corner after 46 minutes, Georgi Nemsadze's ball into the area found Lee Wilkie whose header was eventually scrambled clear by Eric Deloumeaux.

Speroni had to be alert to save a fierce dipping free-kick from Jamie McAllister as the Reds upped the tempo in search for a goal.

Enterprising play from Mike inside the area took him past Wilkie before his cross was headed just over by Darren young.

With the Dundee defence in disarray, Fabiano's cross-ball was knocked into the path of Deloumeaux, but with the goal at his mercy he screwed his effort wide of the post.

The Dons had a major let-off after 75 minutes when Caballero's free-kick deflected in to the path of Novo, but the striker couldn't keep his hooked shot on target.

Aberdeen looked to have scored right at the death, but Speroni was in the right place to save Darren Young's shot
