TEMURI MUST STAY

Temuri Ketsbaia turned on a magnificent display against Motherwell today in a game that saw the Dees run out 2-0 winners.

The Magnificent Temuri
His skill and control on the ball was so far ahead of the others on the park that at times even his own team mates were baffled at what he was going to do next.

His two goals were divine efforts, the first a swerving shot that Woods got a hand to but couldn't keep out. The second a perfectly placed ground shot that he passed with power into the far corner from almost the same position at the edge of the box.

When we were under pressure he was the one who made vital tackles or interceptions, harrying and working for the entire match. He led his side from start to finish and set up glorious chances for others who lacked his precision finishing on the day.

If the rumours are true and he is indeed set to finish his career in Greece, what a sad loss to Dundee and the SPL that would be. No way has he looked over the last month or so like a player who can't wait to leave Dundee. On the contrary, he has looked happy, enjoys the adulation of the crowd, and his work rate has always given me the impression that here is a man who might consider another year at Dens. He has played for the jersey and showed great pride in his team.

Just imagining him playing alongside Nemsadze and the possible newcomer, Jamauralli, another Georgian, makes the mouth water. Please, Peter Marr, we must try to keep this man. At risk of upsetting Claudio Caniggia fans, and I am one myself, Temuri has been a better team player and far more likely to score spectacular goals than the great man himself. TEMURI MUST STAY!

Paul Walker's Match Report should be on later tonight or sometime tomorrow.
