The protracted saga that was Dundee’s signing of The White Feather, Fabrizio Ravanelli, finally came to a successful conclusion today as the former Italian international striker signed on at Dens for the next two seasons.

Jim Duffy revealed his delight in the capture saying "To say these are exciting times at Dundee is an understatement. To suggest that we are delighted is also an understatement. We’re absolutely ecstatic - that’s the word I would use."

Ravanelli (34) adds Dundee to his already prestigious list of former employers which includes, amongst others, Juventus, Middlesbrough and Olympic Marseille. The big Italian revealed how, after being without a club for the last three months – the longest period in his career, he is desperate to get match fit as soon as possible in order to get out on the pitch and give 100% to Dundee FC and it’s fans.

Despite reports earlier today that Fabrizio could make his debut at Ibrox on Saturday, it is believed that Dundee’s next home SPL game, against Partick Thistle, is the target for his first appearance.
