Dundee chairman Stuart Murphy believes this years big kick off is a time for optimism for all at the club.having taken his seat at the head of the dens park boardroom table following the clubs exit from administration,he has plenty of reasons to feel positive.
and he believes the fans, too ,have every right to look hopefully to the future."there are more reasons than normal for us to feel enthused about things, given what has went on over the last year"he admitted."i thought it might have been a challenge to retain the unique bond created between the fans and and the club last season.but as far as i can see that seems to be still embedded, which the board are delighted with.the continued activity in the close season amongst fans, and their continued faith in the club is incredibly heartening,we are selling more season tickets than inprevious years and especially, given that we are in our umpteenth year in the first division, then thats a clear message to the board.
we dont want to let the fans down,he added if the truth be told i see the season ahead in the terms of opportunity.its about the club building its recovery and laying foundations for longer term health,as a board we are committed to that,on the pitch we believe we have the best young manager in scotland, and he as well as his players have shown commitment to the club by still being here as we go into this new season,so its a time ofoptimism as far as we are concerned,at dens park the more people we can get on board with that, the better.
