Paul Marr was found Not Guilty of the charge of assaulting Pat Billio, whilst Danny Rice was found Not Proven because of lack of evidence. The two long term mates from Fintry have avoided what could have been a different ending, though neither comes out of this with any great distinction and should not feel too smug and self satisfied. I hope they learn from their mistakes and remember in future to act with more decorum and put the great club Dundee first and foremost. I'm pleased for them, but there must be no more behaviour like this, Dundee F.C. do not deserve to be dragged through the courts and front page headlines for all the wrong reasons.
The charge of entering the flat of fitness coach, Mr Frediani, was also found Not Proven due to lack of evidence.
Dundee F.C. will heave a huge sigh of relief at the verdicts. It's been a daunting time for fans and board alike and it's nice to see it out of the way once and for all. There's just the small matter of the books to be sorted out now and then we'll all be able to relax and prepare for the season ahead.
