Douglas will face Fox fight
DUNDEE BOSS Gordon Chisholm has warned first choice keeper Rab Douglas than new understudy Scott Fox is looking to replace him, this is just what we need in terms of competivness.
Fox yesterday signed a pre-contract deal with the Dark Blues ahead of formally joining them on July 1.
And Chisholm revealed the 22-year-old former Celtic man hasn’t plumped for Dens Park just to back up the veteran goalie.
“With what he has done in the game and the way he played last season, big Rab is going to be difficult to dislodge from the side,” admitted the manager.
“But Foxy is determined to get that number one jersey and he’ll certainly provide the big man with competition.”
Chisholm has abandoned thoughts of taking his charges to the north-east of England for pre-season training. Owing to budget-ary constraints Dundee’s will instead prepare for the new season locally.i really hope for the sake off the fans that we get atleast one pre season game south of the border,in my opinion there is nothing better for team bonding than a wee sorty over the border,it would also give the newcomers to the team a chance to see what the team means to the fans who would undoubtley travel the 3/or 4 hrs to the game, something that was missing last season as i think the players never stepped upto the mark as in attending functions ie casino night etc
