A huge cloud hung over dens this morning when it emerged that Calum Melville had tendered his resignation.Melville has pumped in over 1.6 million pounds into the Dundee coffers. The news emerged this morning when he never turned up at Jocky Scotts and Ray Farninghams tribunial hearing.
A board meeting has been arranged for tonight and a second board meeting is due to take place later in the week. This comes hard on the heels of Calum Melville being suspended from the cosalt group.
Harry MacLean issued a statement.Harry who is in the closest contact with Calum said "Calum has previously committed to a certain level of funding and that is not something i expect to change" Harry also said that although the news was not "totally out the blue" it had still come as a shock.Appreciating that the Melville needs to devote time to his situation in Aberdeen it is likely his fellow board members at dens will ask him to deal with that situation then resume his interests at dens.
It is beleived that over the next few days the dundee board will desperately try to persuade the multi millionaire not to quit.A copy of the press release stated,Dundee Football Club can confirm that Calum Melville has offered his resignation as director of dundee football club. This will be discussed at a board meeting and until then,no further comment will be made.
