Speroni Saves A Penalty |
Julian signed for Dundee in June, 2001, but needed a European passport to allow him to play for the club. As he was half Italian the player showed great patience in living there until September when his passport finally arrived.
The mystery is why, with Jamie Langfield's form being so erratic, he then had to wait until January, 2002, to make his debut. Vital points were lost during that 3 month period, points that were to ruin Dundee's aim of a top six finish.
Once he took his place between the sticks, making his debut against Falkirk in the Cup at Dens (1-1) on January 6th, his performances have been spectacular, to say the least. Knowing full well that goalkeepers seldom make it big in countries like Italy, Argentina, etc., until they are mid 20's this bright young spark has his head screwed on and realises he can make his mark at Dens and go on to become a huge name in the years to come. I, personally, have no doubts he will do just that.
Now all Dundee eyes are turning to the east towards Greece where Temuri Ketsbaia has intimated an interest in returning as player/coach of the side. If he returns this would be a major double coup for Dundee F.C. So it's one prediction up for this editor, now he awaits Temuri and Nacho signing (pretty certain) for a very happy treble.
