As a thank you to the fans, businesses, and wider community the last home game of Dundee FC's season will cost just £5 for everyone thanks to a donation from the club's shirt sponsors Kilmac Energy. Administrators PKF and the management of the club felt that the fans and the whole city of Dundee have been so supportive and so closely linked to its successful withdrawal from administration that they deserve some recognition and reward for their incredible efforts over the last six months.
Bryan Jackson, corporate recovery partner with accountants and business advisers PKF, explained: "These last few months have seen extraordinary efforts made by the fans, the people and the businesses of Dundee to save their club. To recognise this we felt that the final home match should be a celebration both of the survival of the club and to look to its future, hopefully remaining in the first division. This is intended to be a thank you to everyone for their efforts since last October and because of the generous donation of Kilmac Energy it will not cost the club money!"
Club chief executive, Harry MacLean, said: "I am delighted we have reached this stage of the season given the traumatic period of administration. We have only reached this point thanks to the efforts of the fans and the players. The £5 entry gives all of our fans the chance to come and say thank you to the players at our last home game but also gives the club an opportunity to say thank you for the support we have had all season. I'd also like to thank our principal shirt sponsors Kilmac Energy for their financial help in being able to offer a £5 for all ticket price. We hope that as many of our fans can come along as possible and that we can finish off our home games on a massive high."
seriously fantastic offer from all involved in my opinion
