Falkirk striker Mark Stewart returns to the squad to face Dundee.
However, the game has come too soon for fellow front man Tam McManus, who is battling his way back to fitness following knee surgery.
Dundee manager Barry Smith: "The players have battled for everything since I took over in October and they showed that again last week against Dunfermline when we had only the 10 men. We will need that against Falkirk as well."
Falkirk manager Steven Pressley: "It has not been the best of weeks and, of course, it was really disappointing to go out of the Cup but the boys have shown in training how determined they are to put things right.
"The goals we lost to Queen of the South were poor but we performed a lot better against Partick and if we build on that we will do fine at Dens Park."
