Can It Be True?

The papers today carry the story that Serbian multi-millionaire and new Dundee director Giovanni di Stefano is set to swoop for Motherwell's James McFadden and Chelsea's Carlton Cole. The Daily Mail seems fairly certain approaches have been made and that these two names were those given by Jim Duffy himself as very much on his wanted list.

Cole, aged 19, is a bright young star who was capped 3 times for England's Under-21's and scored 8 goals in the English Premier in 26 matches.

James McFadden is undoubtedly one of the brightest young players in Scotland today.  Just turned 20 he has already been capped for his country and his scoring exploits for Motherwell are the stuff of legends.

If the rumours are true, and I remain sceptical at this moment in time, Dundee could be about to enter the transfer market in sensational fashion on a scale resembling the Caniggia/Ketsbaia transfers that rocked Scottish football.
