Tonight see Dundee travel to Brechin for the next round of the Leauge cup,on paper it seems a formality however, i hope Chis has the team up for it as anything other than a win will just not be good enough.
There are slight injury worries for Dundee including influencial Gary Harkins,i see this as a great chance for liegh Griffiths to regain his scoring form of last season and more importantly regain his confidence.
Overall im expecting Dundee to attack from the off and if they dont adopt this tactic and get beaten then i would imagine the fans will be up in arms.
Brechin is a tidy wee ground and the atmosphere should be good for this game,another positive is the catering they have,very good fair at reasonable prices,we could learn something from them regading this.
If we adopt the right attitude then we should win this tie quite easily,if however we adopt the attitude we had at Stenhousemuir then we will be beaten and beaten well,this will be a sterling test of thenew management team we have at dens.
All in all i am looking forward to this game and i hope that the team answer their doubters and answer them well,I would send out the strongest team available and let the players play for their futures at the club.
Im also looking forward to seeing Lockwood play again as i think he has alot more to his game than we saw in the 0.0draw with Ross County on saturday,having watched him on u tube this lad is very good at set pieces and can also fire in a fierce shot when given the room to do so.
I would also hope that Dundee have stated that Barry Smith will be sitting this one out for Brechin as he stil belongs to us and i dont see why he should play in a competitive game against us as no other club would allow this to happen.
Ihope we have a good turnout tonight but i feel that alot of people wont pay the £15 being asked by Brechin! look no further than the entrance price for a cup game which doesn't guarantee european football anymore,to see why Scottish football is in the state its in at present,very bad pricing structure in my opinion.
