The campaign by Dundee Supporters` Trust Dee4life to raise money to secure shares in the club moved up a gear today with the launch of a new website aimed initially at accelerating their efforts.
The Trust hopes to obtain as many of the available shares as it can with their fundraising campaign "It`s Ure Dundee" - already having raised more than £90,000. Their first target is to own 26% of the shares which will cost £150,00.
But today, Dee4life secretary Andy Gurvan announced details of www.deededications.com a new website which he believes will encourage fans of Dundee FC to bring in more cash.
He said, "It`s a simple idea in that fans will be able to post pictures and news on any memorable day they care to share with other supporters. It can be a birthday, an anniversary, a graduation or even a new job. All they need to do for a small fee, is place a picture of themselves and some words about the occasion and it will not only create an interesting website but it will bring more money into our coffers. We hope this will be an additional boost as our campaign draws to a close (although the website will be a long term venture), as we offer something in return to those willing to aid our cause.
Dee4life`s innovative move will be viewed with interest by other supporters` trusts as more and more fans` organisations look to have a bigger say in the running of the club.
