We totally agree that their positions are untenable given the disastrous series of results this season but the manner in which they have been told they have no future is nothing short of disgraceful and is yet another shoddy episode in the recent past of our great club.
If Kernaghan (below) has been told he has no future then why is he still at the club?
The current impasse is doing no-one any good and there is now a real fear that the Dundee support will be openly hostile to Kernaghan at Saturdays final home match of the season against Clyde. Does he deserve that? No of course he doesn't. His results have been poor but what else can the man do but try and get some sort of compensation for a contract that was agreed?
Who will be responsible if any Dundee fan is arrested for abuse of the manager when in fact it could be avoided simply by doing the right thing?
We do not believe that you cannot afford to pay him off immediately and if that really is the case you had no right to agree such a contract on behalf of the club in the first place. It could easily be argued that this is a much more important failure to do your job than anything Alan Kernaghan has done.
If you cannot pay off Kernaghan and Kirkwood then it's not their positions that are untenable but yours.
Do the right thing today and bring this whole sorry episode to an end.
