DEE4LIFE FUNDRAISING UPDATE
Dee4Life announced that donations pledged to their fundraising appeal ‘It's URE Dundee' had broken through the £70,000 barrier .The initiative is set to run until 31st July when contributions will invested on behalf of the supporters. The Trust currently has a shareholding of over 5% in the Club and has set a target of a minimum of a 26% shareholding for the appeal. Gretna FC owner Brooks Mileson has offered to assist by pledging £30,000 to Dee4Life if the Trust can generate a substantial proportion of the target. With many supporters hard at work fundraising and six weeks of the appeal still to run Trust volunteers are said to be hopeful of reaching their minimum target which will require around another £50,000 to be hit.
Quote ‘ there are many people at work organising raffles, selling things on e bay and doing the rounds with sponsorship forms .We are hopeful that when the final sums are done the supporters will have taken this opportunity to collectively own a greater stake than ever in the Club. Things are looking much brighter than they were financially, however if the Club and the supporters are to make best use of the opportunity that lies in front of them, then a lot of hard work still lies ahead. The future prosperity of the Club lies in the hands of those that support it, and if the desire is there we can collectively create a very bright future for Dundee FC.If everyone who does care can contribute something, this can be achieved. Very recently 8000 people travelled to Hampden together to support the Club and if a fraction of that number get behind us,a real lasting difference can be made'.
